Below you will find descriptions and uses for various grades of foam. If you can’t find what you are looking for then please get in touch as there are many other grades that we can supply upon request.
Luxury – Medium / Firm
This foam grade R400H (grey) is high density foam. If you are looking for support, comfort and durability then this foam is for you. Because this foam is produced without fillers (tiny pieces of melamine) it will not break down like ordinary foam. It will maintain its original shape and density for many years. This is our most popular foam for seat cushion replacements and comes highly recommended by many of our existing customers. This grade is ideal for three piece suites, armchairs and luxury caravan and boat seating.
Luxury – Medium / Soft
If you are replacing feather or fibre filled seat cushions then this grade will be most suitable, it has the same qualities as the luxury Reflex 400H (grey)however it is graded as R400 (pink) and has a softer feel. Because this foam is produced without fillers (tiny pieces of melamine) it will not break down like ordinary foam. It will maintain its original shape and density for many years. As feather and fibre seat cushions are quite fat and soft when plumped up, this needs to be taken into consideration when replacing with foam. This softer grade of Reflex allows you to fit thicker foam into your covers without feeling as if you are perched high in the air when you sit down. This grade is ideal for three piece suites, armchairs and luxury caravan and boat seating.
Standard - Firm V38 - (blue)
If you want to replace your interior in a seat cushion and would like it to be firm, then this grade is for you. It is still widely used by upholsterers as standard seat cushions especially for the elderly. However we feel that it just doesn't have the comfort level required for your favourite chair (unless you really are looking for a firm seat!). This grade of foam is suitable for three piece suites, armchairs, window seats, dining chairs and d.i.y. projects such as headboards etc.
Back Cushion Foam Super Soft
This foam is ideal for replacing foam, fibre, or feather back fillings. Because your body doesn’t exert anywhere near as much pressure on a back cushion as it does on a seat cushion the foam needs to be soft as well as supportive. Reflex super soft is a hardwearing foam with a luxurious feel. Because this foam is produced without fillers (tiny pieces of melamine) it will not break down like ordinary foam. It will maintain its original shape and density for many years. It will instantly transform the look of any sofa or chair. No more plumping up lumpy saggy cushions that flop out of shape the moment that you rest your back on them.
Memory/Visco Elastic Foam. Slow Release
Pressure Relieving. For more detailed information see memory foam information.
Memory foam is an advanced Polymer cushioning. Through its sensitivity to temperature it will recognise your body shape and pressure. It will then adjust to conform to your individual shape providing optimum support, with minimum pressure on your body. Slow release visco elastic foam was originally developed to absorb the G force effects that astronauts experience during space flights.
Its unique properties were quickly recognised by the medical industry and used as cushioning on operating tables and hospital beds, it is now extensively used in the bedding industry to produce luxury mattresses and overlays for home use.
Memory foam is suitable for cushions, overlays, mattresses, pillows, lumbar supports etc. We specialise in a range of memory foam products including overlays, mattresses and pillows.
