Below you will find a list of foams with various grades (also known as density) and their recommended usage.

We are able to laminate foams to any requirements (ANY size and ANY shape). A wrap of Polyester Dacron and Stockinette (netting) is highly recommended, see why at the end of the foam descriptions. 	LUXURY MEDIUM SOFT - Go to step 2 'How to measure for new foam' High density 'REFLEX' foam with a soft to medium feel, keeping its bounce and shape for many years. Supportive and extremely comfortable it is the best choice for replacing Hollow fibre or feather cushions. Ideal for armchairs and sofa cushions with a depth of 13cm (5”) or more. Also used for caravan and boat cushions and as good quality mattresses and mattress toppers.
	LUXURY MEDIUM FIRM - Go to step 2 'How to measure for new foam' Also high density 'REFLEX' foam with a medium to firm feel, keeping its bounce and shape for many years. Supportive and extremely comfortable. A great choice for those needing a firmer cushion. Ideal for armchairs and sofa cushions with a depth up to 14cm (5.5”) also used for caravan and boat cushions and good quality mattresses and toppers.
	STANDARD MEDIUM - Go to step 2 'How to measure for new foam' Good quality affordable foam. This foam is ideal for providing a comfortable cushion; it is good a quality foam that will last a few years. However it does not have the full rebound qualities as our best selling Reflex foam. Ideal for chairs, sofas, headboards and general use.
	STANDARD FIRM - Go to step 2 'How to measure for new foam' Denser foam, which is suitable for those on a budget and prefer firm foam. This is not reflex foam and therefore does not have the same qualities. If needing a cushion over 5” the standard medium or 'REFLEX' foams would be a more suitable choice for comfort. Ideal for headboards, dining chairs, window seats and general use.
	LAMINATED MEMORY FOAM (NEW OPTION) - Go to step 2 'How to measure for new foam' Memory foam laminated to a supportive REFLEX base foam (luxury medium soft reflex foam or luxury medium firm reflex foam).The ultimate in luxury with a layer of 5cm (2") memory foam. Ideal for armchair and sofa cushions. The memory foam needs a good depth of supportive base foam preventing you from sinking in too deep, so we recommend cushions with a total depth of 5.5" - 6" or above. Also excellent choice for bed mattresses, caravans, camper vans, motor homes and boats.
	MEMORY FOAM - Go to step 2 'How to measure for new foam' Our standard memory foam grade is 60 density, however we do have a softer memory foam grade available for those who prefer a softer feel. Pressure relieving foam that is temperature sensitive and moulds to the contours of your body. Ideal for mattresses, toppers, dog beds, pillows, foam cut to size for a seating pad and many other usages.
	LUXURY BACK FOAM - Go to step 2 'How to measure for new foam' Wonderful soft Back foam keeping its bounce. No more struggling to 'plump up' those fibre or feather fillings. This back foam is luxuriously comfortable and will support your back. Ideal for chair and sofa cushions, also suitable for soft headboards
	CHIP FOAM – Reconstituted - Go to step 2 'How to measure for new foam' Very firm high-density foam widely known as reconstituted foam. It is formed by strongly bonded foam chips usually used as a base for areas of heavy use. Can be used with softer foam laminated to it on the top layer only or sandwiched with the chip foam in the centre. Ideal for pub seating, church kneelers, or even sandwiched with softer foam for a really firm seat.
	DACRON WRAP A wrap of polyester dacron is highly recommended. Giving the cushion a softer edge, and a padded appearance. We use a good quality dacron which makes all the difference to the end result. You will have the option to include this wrap when purchasing your cushion/s.
	STOCKINETTE WRAP Stockinette or otherwise known as netting, highly recommended. This allows the cushion to be inserted back into the cover easily. It can sometimes be used directly over the foam with no dacron. If stockinette was not used the foam would ‘grip’ onto the cover and the cover would have to be adjusted continually to keep it in place! When opting to have the dacron wrap a layer of stockinette is always used.

Important note: Our flame retardant foams conform to the requirements of ‘The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988’ Foam Schedule 1 Part 1/Fibres Schedule 2 Part 1. (Amended 1989, 1993) A Certificate can be provided if needed for rental properties.
